What is the biggest disease of
the mind? Overthinking. Especially too
much about what others did, what they should do, what they should have done,
what they said, what you desired they had said, why they spoke at all. All of
these thoughts raid the mind of its essential peacefulness.
Overthinking is like overeating. The excess
weight makes it dreadful to continue light and flexible. Our mind gets attached
to little things and progressively these little things become enormous things
which we cannot get rid of. Often when we think too much, we imagine things
that are not real and overdramatize. Consequently, creating damaging feelings
which can cause serious health issues.
A healthy mind equals a
healthy body. Overthinking or anything which is “over”, entails willpower. We
have the ability to control our thoughts. We do not have the ability to control
what comes out of someone´s mouth or how they behave towards us. Therefore, take
the reins of your mind through meditation, watching a movie, reading – keeping your
mind occupied with a different task other than overthinking. Sounds easy? It may
take some discipline, but it can be done. If all else fails, see a therapist.
Tomorrow is not promised. Therefore,
take life one day at a time and make the most of that time which you are given.
