The young girl was walking through the forest, kicking
stones and wondering what she should do with her life. Near the Lake, she saw
an elderly woman in a meditative state. As she approached, the mature woman
turned around and greeted her with a bright smile and a heartfelt good day. She
kindly returned the greeting but without a smile. The woman questioned her
about that and told her that life is lighter when you smile. The young girl
started telling the woman that she felt like she was carrying the world on her
shoulders in a bag filled with problems and she couldn´t find the strength to
smile or grin for that matter.
The woman looked at her and asked her if she could
open the bag and separate the problems into three smaller bags. One bag would
be filled with the problems she could not resolve. The second one would be
filled with the problems that other people could resolve for her or that had
nothing to do with her. And, finally, the third one would be filled with the
problems she could actually do something about.
She sat next to him and started doing this mentally
and gradually her shoulders started becoming lighter and lighter and a smile
started to blossom on her face. There, well done said the woman; feeling much
better I can tell. Can I help you with anything else?
The smiling young girl looked across the lake and
could not believe her eyes. She noticed that each hilltop was a different
color. She questioned the elderly woman asked her if she knew the reason why
each hilltop had a different color and how beautiful it was; she had never
noticed anything so beautiful in her whole life. In her eyes all hilltops were
either brown, dark green or covered in snow.
The elderly woman pointed and started to talk about
each and every one of them.
You see the mountain that is pink, orange and reddish.
It is the mountain that represents love and all the good things that come from
it. I'm not talking about the romantic love between a man and a woman, a woman
and a woman, and man and a man. I'm talking about unconditional love for others;
whether it is somebody in your family or a total stranger that you just meet
for an instance during your lifetime. if you choose to climb to the top of that
mountain, that is what you get.

The young girl was astonished, and she wanted to climb
that mountain so fast. It would be an awesome feeling to feel true love for anything
and everything; anybody and everybody.
The enchanting woman pointed to the mountaintop next
to that one and said, you see that one in the different shades of blue? It represents
sadness. If you climb to the top of that mountain you will feel along the climb
but once you reach the top you will be filled with happiness. Because after a sad
moment; once the clouds have gone; you will feel happy. Consequently, I think
that in fact that is the happy mountain.

Now, the young girl was confused for how can happiness
come from sadness? She thought about it and if to be happy you have to be sad first,
that's another mountain she would risk climbing.
You see the one with the different shades of green,
pointed the old woman. That is the mountain of hope. Hope is very important to
have to live a good life. Some people say some synonyms for hope are
confidence, expectation and optimism. However, I believe that the best synonym
for hope is faith. With faith you can do anything to your heart´s content.

Wow! The young lady thought to herself; hope and faith
at the same mountaintop. It's something that people are lacking nowadays. Perhaps
she could gather some of her friends and invite them to hike up the mountain
with her. Wouldn´t that be magnificent?
Look to your left. Do you see that mountain top that
has shades of brown and beige? The young girl nodded. It represents health
because without health you really can't do anything in life, can you? It
doesn't look like the best mountain to climb, but with daily exercise, a proper
diet and a positive mindset, life will be good. Nonetheless, I know what you
are thinking- the reason why there are so many diseases in the world. Illnesses
come to force you to take better care of yourself and it is one of those things
that cannot be controlled.

Indeed, the young lady wanted a good life and if
that's what she had to do. Perhaps that would be the mountain to climb. The
more she saw, the more she got confused.
Now, you see that mountain over there in shades of
purple. That is the mountain of spirituality, the mountain of the divine. It is
the one you go to when you need the best advice, when you need solace, when
your heart is stiffened or broken; that is the mountain that you should climb
under these circumstances.

Tears were rolling down her face. Why are you crying my
child ? They sound like everything I need but I'm afraid I don't have the
lifetime to climb each and every mountain.
The old woman touched her heart and asked her to close
her eyes. Sniffling, she obeyed and then when she opened her eyes everything
had changed. There was just one mountain covered with all of those colors. It
was just magical and beautiful to look at. She hugged the old woman and thanked
her. The elderly woman said that she had not done anything, simply opened her
eyes to the possibilities of what life brings. In addition to this, she told the
young girl to climb that mountain, which meant that she would be climbing every
mountain, because at the end of the climb, she would have lived what life had
to offer.
