To Retire or Not to Retire?

 

When do you know it is the right time to retire? 

I´m not talking about due to age or because you can according to the law. I´m referring to just not having to get up early any longer and living life taking orders from a boss instead of doing your own thing to enjoy the remainder of life.

When do you know the right time to be able to live on your retirement pension alone? Does some one come up to you and tell you? Does a health issue make you stop?

There are many questions that come along with this act. Having a reason to wake up in the morning keeps a person young. But, on the other hand, the pressure and stress that comes along with a job ages you faster.

Retirement is a time when you are supposed to enjoy life without so much pressure a bit of health left.

A Sad Surprise

 

Social media is a good thing to have, however, there is a downside or should I say a couple of them.

I am going to talk about one that at times hits me in the gut.

You are connected to people without really being in contact with them. You find out that some one has passed because a loved one posts it. They reveal all their love and appreciation when the person has passed. In a way, it is a beautiful gesture and we tend to believe or would like to believe that the deceased one had heard it all while they were still alive and kicking.

Guess that the greatest downside, for me, is when you find out a friend has died when you are going to send them a message on their birthday. When you about to wish them a glorious day, you read other messages and find out the person passed away three years ago. No wonder they haven´t been writing you back. The sadness and the sense of loss still hits you hard and all the pieces of why the messages you have been sending never got answered. Not to mention the silliness of having wished them a super happy birthday when you should have just wished them a happy heavenly birthday, which is also something to think about. Is their social media in the afterlife?
