A big bright smile on his face is how he greets people as they walk in the drugstore. Always politely asking if he can be of any service. Many people say no thank and then he kindly answers thank you! Smiling always.
I thought it was generous of the drugstore to have
given him a job since he was slower than the regular attendants when speaking
and walking. It was heartwarming to be welcomed into the drugstore with such thoughtfulness.
His name is Daniel. How do I know? To my surprise, the
cashier asked him to attend to the next customer at the cash register, who
happened to be me, and I read his name tag.
He tried to type in my medication to no avail. He made
the same mistake three times. Every time apologizing for his mistake, but
curiously saying my name first. At the nearby register people were being
attended quickly. I was in no hurry.
Finally, the manager came over and helped Daniel a bit.
At the end, he said my name, thanked me and especially thanked me for my patience.
I left the store smiling.
